Service
Engineered retaining and garden walls for Orange County slopes — designed for soil loads and drainage first, finished in stone, plaster, or board-form concrete.
Service perspective
A retaining wall is structure first and surface second. Every wall we build starts with the questions that decide whether it stands straight in year fifteen: what soil is behind it, where the water goes, what loads sit above it, and whether the city requires an engineer's stamp. Then we make it beautiful — natural stone, smooth plaster, board-form concrete, or planted terraces that turn a grade problem into the best part of the garden.
Built to the engineering, not around it — footing, reinforcement, and compaction verified
Drainage designed before finish — the #1 cause of wall failure handled first
2-year workmanship warranty; structural system warranties pass through

What this service must resolve
Will it last?
Built on engineering: drainage, base prep, and structural details.
Will you manage complexity?
A clear process, calm cadence, and one point of contact.
Will it feel like us?
Direction, customization, and collaboration, not catalog design.
Included in the scope
Chapter 1
Why retaining walls fail — and how ours don't
Nearly every leaning or cracked wall we're called to replace failed for the same reason: water trapped behind it. Hydrostatic pressure doubles the load a wall carries, and a wall built without a drainage system is quietly fighting a battle it will lose. Our walls treat drainage as half the project.
Chapter 2
Permits, engineering, and the 4-foot rule
In most Orange County and Greater LA cities, a retaining wall over 4 feet measured from the bottom of the footing — or any wall carrying a surcharge like a driveway, pool, or slope above it — requires engineered drawings and a building permit. Some cities set the bar at 3 feet. We handle this for you: our engineer produces the calculations and stamped plans, we file the permit, schedule inspections, and close it out so the wall is documented for resale.
Chapter 3
Materials: from engineered block to board-form concrete
The structure underneath can be the same; the face of the wall sets the character of the garden. We help you choose based on height, budget, and the architecture of the house.
Chapter 4
From grade problem to garden asset
The best retaining walls don't read as infrastructure. A slope becomes two usable terraces; a cut becomes a planted bench; a property-line drop becomes a backdrop for lighting and vines. Because we design and build the whole garden — planting, lighting, irrigation, drainage — the wall is planned as part of the composition, not dropped in as a fix.

Most projects work best when landscape, hardscape, lighting, and stewardship are resolved together.

Terraces, paths, retaining walls, steps, and outdoor structures built with precise detailing and material discipline. Every surface is engineered for drainage, stability, and longevity.

Planting, circulation, grading, and material direction resolved into a garden plan that feels architectural from the first sketch.

Architectural lighting, water, smart irrigation, sound, sensors, and robotic mowing — the invisible systems that make the garden work.

On-site discovery and a clear plan for next steps.
